Ferdinand Magellan's response to his senior capitan Welcome aboard.... We are two parents (48 and 49) and two daughters (8 and 15) who changed our lives. We sold, gave away, tossed or stored our worldly goods, quit our jobs and schools, and left our home in Alaska for a one-year around-the-world sabbatical. We visited 18 countries, had countless adventures, and took thousands of photos. This site chronicles our journey of discovery and change as told by all of us. We are now working on a book and would very much appreciate your feedback. Would you help us by answering a few questions? Click Here.
And now we'd like to introduce the next family of Worldhoppers, the Teller-Millers. They leave in June 1999 for a one-year family adventure they are calling "World School 2000," and they've agreed to also share their stories on these pages as they travel. A brief warning: Our site is very large, full of pictures, links, stories, jokes, trivia and even exotic recipes. It's intended for travelers (including the arm-chair variety), families (particularly those who dream of changing their lives and taking an extended adventure), adults (especially those in mid-life crisis), teachers and kids (with a love of science, animals and cultures), and classrooms and libraries. We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed living and reporting it. P.S. We love to read and respond to e-mail--if you'd like to drop us a line: gmason5@earthlink.net George, Salli, Samantha, and Cassidy
